Taking your seminar courses.

Here are examples of two different types of programs. Ten Steps for Better Judicial Writing is one of our newest courses and so the delivery method is different from our classic course The LawProse Editing Method for Motions & Contracts. We’ll walk you through accessing both types here.

Ten Steps for Better Judicial Writing

  1. Click on the course title.
  2. This will bring you to the course page.
  3. Then access the course materials by clicking on Additional Resources on the right side of the screen. This will launch your Adobe Reader and the PDF will pop up in another screen.
  4. To access the video part of the seminar, click on Launch under Courses in this Series. This main screen will go grey.
  5. If you’ve already disabled the pop-up blocker, then the video portion is in another window of the browser you’re using.
  6. If you haven’t disabled your pop-up blocker, then the main screen will still be grey and the video window will not appear. You’ll need to follow the instructions on page one for deactivating your pop-up blocker for this site.

The LawProse Editing Method for Motions & Contracts

  1. Click on the course title.
  2. This will bring you to the course page.
  3. The course description in PDF form is under the View Resources link to the left side of the screen.
  4. To access your course materials and the video, click the Launch button. This main screen will go grey. If you’ve already disabled the pop-up blocker, then the video portion is in another window of the browser you’re using. If you haven’t disabled your pop-up blocker, then the main screen will still be grey and the video window will not appear. You’ll need to follow the instructions on page one for deactivating your pop-up blocker for this site.
  5. After you bring the video screen to the front, you’ll see a table-of-contents tree to the left.
    • Directions: simple instructions on how to run this program.
    • Course materials: this will open up your Adobe Reader with a PDF of your course materials.
    • PowerPoint Presentation: You don’t need to print this out. It’s just that people have asked for them and so we’ve shared the slide deck the Professor uses during the course.
    • LawProse Editing Method Part 1: This is the first half of the video seminar.
    • Quiz Break: You’ll need to answer a short series of questions for your attendance verification for some State Bars.
    • LawProse Editing Method Part 2: This is the second half of the video seminar.
    • Final Quiz: Another check on attendance.
    • Code Word Entry: Professor Garner presented a code word during the program, you’ll need to select the correct answer for the system to log your attendance as completed.
    • Once you complete your seminar successfully, close out of the video window and you can access your main e-learning site again.
